About

Wallis Suda is a design director working across interiors, wellness, fashion, installation & branding.

Wallis is a huntress & alchemist of all things that make the heartbeat.  She believes in constructing environments through design & curation of beautiful objects, textiles, horticulture, cuisine, music, people & furniture in a manner that is unique to each project.  Disciplined at Parsons School of Design in NY & Paris, BFA Fashion, her philosophy of design is built on a foundation that the right balance of academic knowledge in global design, art, raw materials, and interactions with all types of people is the only formula to creating radical product inspiring emotion, dialogue & healing.

Wallis most recently worked as the design director of home at Calvin Klein.  Transitioning with the Calvin Klein home brand from past to present, her expertise in textiles, prints & graphics rapidly expanded into building a new American lifestyle vision through glass, stone, wax, wood and home fragrance.  With Raf Simons at the helm, they transformed the studio into a laboratory, looking deep into object history, materials & craftsmanship.  Working with artisans & producers of the highest quality in Italy, France, Belgium, Portugal, Japan & America.

As a creative, the seeds of Wallis' talents were planted at birth, through voracious travel, working with many different brands & building a strong network of artisans across the world.  Living in Paris for 3 years deepened her connection to her European roots & design sensibilities that she was naturally inclined to. Her personal style is very minimalist yet colorful with a rock & roll edge. Italian & Japanese food, craft and cultural histories are especially appreciated.

Wallis' greatest skill is to take the dreams of others as well as her own and bring them into physical reality. The result of such work is always one that must hold beauty & respect to a material while investigating design and pushing it past expectations to often arrive at a minimalist result that celebrates the essence of the product. A process that can be rough and then finessed with sophisticated execution of the vision.  The idea is not to create more, but to create beauty out of what we have.

Currently Wallis is working on her own material capsules as well as art directing and consulting for interior architect studios, travel, fashion and wellness brands in Milan, NY & LA.
